Last year I shared 6 useful tools to say organized. Well, times have changed. Some of those tools remain and others have phased out. Now I’d like to share with you my favorite free apps (not including my social media ones like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook).
Onenote
This is Microsoft’s version of digital note-taking (like Evernote). I found this one to be a bit cleaner visually making it easier to use. It’s great for organizing my notes, projects and ideas. I don’t use it with photos or ever sharing anything with others but those are some of the things it can do. You can also clip things from a website to save for later.
Hootsuite
This is what I use to schedule all my social media stuff. It also now allows Instagram scheduling, which is pretty great! So this all in one is an amazing tool that I’ve still yet had to upgrade to the paid version.
Feedly
It’s a feed reader that’s easy to manage and visually pleasing. It’s a great way to organize your favorite blogs, news sites, podcasts and Youtube channels and access them all in one place. Feedly is available everywhere you go. Your phone, tablet and computer are always in sync. You can also add and save articles to Pocket directly from Feedly which is really convenient :)
Pocket
This is a bookmarking app. While browsing the internet, reading an article or blog post … whatever you would want to save for later, you just add it to Pocket with a bookmarklet. The best part about this app is that you can read everything you’ve added offline! No need to download the article like those podcasts, especially when you’re in areas with no internet service. It’s all there and ready for you, whenever you are. You can have pocket on multiple devices and they all sync so you always have your unread articles readily available.
Receipt Hog
I’ve mentioned this app when I wrote about the simple changes to save money. This is a fun and rewarding way to turn receipts from everyday shopping into cash – no matter where you shop or what you buy! All you have to do is take a photo of the receipt. There are some limitations to this app. It doesn’t accept some small convenient stores and restaurants. If you sign up by clicking the link we’ll both earn points & money :)
Receipt Pal
Similar to Receipt Hog, you submit a photo of a receipt or an e-receipt to ReceiptPal. You’ll earn points that can be used towards rewards like gift cards to Amazon, PayPal or Cash. They also have weekly sweepstakes that give you a chance to win bonuses. It does take time to earn anything back but it’s only a few minutes out of your week.
I hope you can find something amongst those free apps that you can use. If you’ve got some free ones you’d like to share, let me know below :)
